Arrive in style!

Time passes daily. That’s not just a saying—it’s a truth we all live by. Whether we take action or not, time keeps moving. And here’s the reality: three years from now will arrive. It’s not a maybe. It’s a certainty, and if we’re fortunate enough, we’ll be here to meet it.

So, the real question is: What will your arrival look like?

Will you arrive by default… or by design?

The way we arrive in three years is shaped by what we do today. Not next week. Not next year. But right now. The habits we build, the disciplines we commit to, and the small consistent actions we take all become the architecture of our future.

Success ain’t a surprise party! It’s something you plan for—and show up to—on purpose.

So, let’s plan to show up and show out!

Reverse Engineering Your Ideal Arrival

Start by asking: What does “arriving in style” mean to me? Is it better health? Financial freedom? Stronger relationships? A thriving business? A deeper sense of peace?

Once you know what success looks like three years from now, reverse engineer it. Break it down. Visualize that future version of you and work backwards to today. Ask:

  • What habits got me there?

  • What routines sustained me?

  • What daily choices created that outcome?

  • What did I do when motivation waned?

For example, if your goal is to be 50 pounds lighter and full of energy, then you can safely bet your future self made choices around food, movement, sleep, and self-care—every day. Those choices weren’t accidental. They were intentional. They were lead measures.

Focus on the Lead Measures

In The 4 Disciplines of Execution, the authors talk about the difference between lag measures (the result) and lead measures (the actions that drive the result).

For weight loss, the lag measure is the number on the scale. But the lead measures? Caloric intake and physical activity.

Whatever your desired future, identify your lead measures. Then commit to them. Daily.

Drift or Drive—The Choice Is Yours

Three years from now will arrive. That part isn’t optional. But how you show up—by design or by default—is a choice you get to make every single day.

Don’t drift toward your future. Drive toward it. Chart the course, lock in your lead measures, and take consistent action.

You’re going to arrive anyway. So why not arrive in style? 😎
